Randolph Communications Reaches Record Year with Food Harvest Drive

Asheboro, NC – Randolph Communications held their eighth annual Food Harvest Drive during the months of October and November, collecting a record number of non-perishable food items at their two offices located in Asheboro and Liberty. Donations received for the Food Harvest Drive were matched by Randolph Communications, which totaled 16,994 non-perishable items. All items were donated to eight local food banks in their service areas.

• High Falls Area Food Pantry, Robbins, NC

• Robbins Area Christian Ministries Food Pantry, Robbins, NC
• West Chatham Food Pantry, Siler City, NC
Randolph Communications partnered with Lowes Foods for two weeks in November, who then set up a donation box at their Asheboro location so that customers could donate at checkout. Lowes Food also graciously donated multiple pallets of non-perishable food. Companies such as Pinnacle Financial Partners, Fresh Cuts, Movement Bank, First Bank of Asheboro, Walmart of Asheboro, Central Bakery, Food Lion (East Dixie Drive), POST Consumer Brands, Stonetree, PIP’s Printing, Nutrition Xtreme and Chatham Rabbit all showed support to the food drive by setting up donation boxes at their business locations.
“This year I’ve had more people sign up for our school food pantry than in previous years, which speaks to the need for more resources in rural communities,” stated Jamie Allen, School Social Worker at Bennett School. She further stated, “The donation from Randolph Communications is a huge blessing. It will allow me to provide monthly food boxes through the end of this school year, plus get us off to a good start in the fall. We are very grateful for their continued support of our school!”
